If you long-time SE++ers will cast your mind back to October, 2011, you may recollect a farewell thread for one Somestickguy. It turned out that Somestickguy was a Mormon and was about to leave on a 2-year mission to London, England. Then, on the 6th of October, he left. The thread went the way of most threads where the topic of Mormons is brought up tend to - not a good place to say the least - and the thread eventually died.
Now those 2 years are up. I'm back.
2 years is a long time. 2 years in London, talking to strangers and non-strangers alike from all over the world about God is a unique experience. And for me, 2 years aways from media in general was a daunting prospect. But hey. Look at how things turned out. I'm back, I've just had a life-changing adventure and what's more, I have 2 STINKING YEARS of stuff to catch up on. Now the big and looming question is,
WHERE DO I START?!
So this thread is for 2 primary things, but let me first state what this thread is not for. This thread is not for arguing about the beliefs or practices of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or any other religious group. If you want that, there's plenty of other places on the internet dedicated to the cause.
So here are the 2 things. Thing number 1; I doubt it happens often that an internet forum has a chance to ask a recently returned missionary about his experiences. Since I love you guys, I wanted to take a shot at doing so. Bear in mind that my schedule for at least the next few weeks will be a lot less empty than what it used to be (as you can probably tell in my level of forum activity in the past couple of days), but when I'm around, I'll do my best. I'm not sure how many pictures I'll post, but certainly some. I certainly wasn't shy about sending pictures via the medium of @Tynic before. We'll see what happens.
Thing 2: I will repeat the aforementioned question, WHERE DO I START?! Of course I will catch up on Homestuck, but I'm planning on doing so with a friend and 2 years of solid waiting won't be made too much harder by a couple of extra days (I did watch Cascade though. WOW. I'm avoiding the MSPA thread for spoiler reasons but WOW). Anyway, so I need recommendations. I've already purchased a 3DS, Super Mario 3D Land and Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Bros., but beyond that I pretty much just have my stuff from 2 years ago. That is, a PS3, a PC and a 3rd Gen iPod Touch. I'm not planning on getting any more systems any time soon, so those and the 3DS are what I have to work with!
Begin!
