Risk of Rain takes place on an alien world where you are the only survivor of the mysterious crash of the UES Contact Light, an interstellar cargo ship carrying an immense amount of weaponry. As the vessel thundered into the surface of an unnamed planet, it hurled its freight across a vast area, and just as well - you'll have to make use of the scattered loot if you're to have any chance of fending off the hordes of alien creatures coming to kill you. The longer you stay, the faster and more aggressively they come, so don't hesitate too long or you won't make it home alive. Fight your way back to the ship, discover what caused the crash, and - fortune willing - escape.
