Oh hey, I've been hearing a lot about this, gimme the rundown:
So, THQ's WWE games are...well, the AI is not great. But the creation tools are fun and that prompted a guy named Bazza to create the VGCW, a wrestling Federation composed primarily of game characters and personalities who fight it out for "prestigious" titles. The fights are AI vs AI, so Bazza has to roll with whatever outcomes happen.
So what's the specific appeal?
Really, it's how well this lunacy captures the spirit of wrestling. The storylines that Baz starts throwing together in Season 2 (which is where you should start, by the way), are hilarious, but it's still surprising how much you can get into a good old fashioned Rumble when a chronic loser starts showing promise (Badman!) A prime example of Baz having to roll with the punches is the current vacancy of the main title belt. Donkey Kong was stripped of his belt after it was revealed that his finishing move was glitched to do 100% damage to anyone. baz wrote this as DK using an illegal finisher.
Alright, I'll give it a shot, where should I start viewing?
There's a list on the wiki of every stream but if you want to comb through the archives yourself take a look at Bazza's official Twitch page. If you want to relive the magic of a stream, this dude has been archiving recent streams with the chat attached. And here's some older ones with chat!
